Author: NSPRA Accreditation Committee/Friday, April 3, 2026/Categories: News
Each April, APR Month highlights the meaning and impact of accreditation in public relations across the profession, and the experiences behind the credential.
For school communicators, that impact shows up in how they approach strategy, build trust and lead communication efforts within their districts and communities. The APR represents more than a professional milestone. It reflects a commitment to thoughtful, ethical practice and continuous growth in a field where communication plays a critical role in supporting students, families and staff.
Throughout APR Month, NSPRA is spotlighting the people and experiences behind that commitment while also helping school communicators better understand the accreditation process and what it can mean for their work.

Alongside these stories, we’ll also highlight insights and perspectives designed to help those considering the APR better understand what to expect, how to get started and how the process can support their professional growth.
From first considering the process to navigating the panel presentation and exam, to applying APR principles in day-to-day communication, these stories and resources highlight what the journey looks like in practice and why it matters.
The Most Powerful Stories Are Yours
While NSPRA will be sharing stories throughout the month, APR Month is also an opportunity for accredited communicators to share their own.
IWe invite you to join the conversation on LinkedIn by reflecting on what APR means to you. Whether you are newly accredited or have held your APR for years, your perspective can help others better understand the value of the process.
