NSPRA and Sogolytics Release Landmark National Report on Digital Accessibility in K-12 Schools
ROCKVILLE, MD. (December 15, 2025) – The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), in collaboration with survey and experience management platform Sogolytics, has released a new national report examining the state of digital accessibility in K-12 education. From Compliance to Culture: Advancing Digital Accessibility in K-12 Education offers a comprehensive look at original survey data from school communication professionals, recent federal Title II updates and district case studies designed to help school systems prepare for upcoming accessibility requirements.
The report reveals a mixed national picture: While school communicators overwhelmingly recognize the importance of digital accessibility, many districts still lack the policies, training and cross-department systems needed to ensure fully accessible digital content and platforms.
Key findings include:
“This report offers the clearest picture we’ve seen of where districts stand and where the roadblocks really are,” said NSPRA Executive Director Barbara M. Hunter, APR. “School communicators have led the way in accessibility for years, but true progress will require a districtwide commitment supported by policy, training and strong vendor partnerships.”
In addition to national findings, the report provides:
“As the analytics partner trusted by NSPRA and many of its members, we believe it's our shared responsibility to advance digital accessibility in K-12 schools,” said Haris Azmi, chief revenue officer at Sogolytics. “That’s why we’re committed to creating an accessible, inclusive digital experience for every survey participant.”
The report underscores that meaningful progress in digital accessibility requires a coordinated, districtwide effort. By treating accessibility as a shared responsibility and embedding it into daily workflows, schools can advance equity, build stronger connections with families and provide digital experiences that truly serve every member of the community.
Download the full report as a PDF or access a plain-text HTML version of the report.
NOTE: The PDF version of the report includes a clear reading order, organized headings and bookmarks, tagged text with brief alt descriptions and improved color contrast. Because tables are not fully optimized in the PDF, the plain-text HTML version of the report provides the most accessible, screen-reader-friendly format for reviewing table data.
