NSPRA offers a number of different membership types. Below, learn more about each type and decide which is right for you. Explore many benefits of NSPRA membership and find out why 3,000+ school public relations professionals and education leaders are members.

Become a Member

Professional* Professional Partner Associate*

Professional members receive all benefits and resources, can vote and run for office, and are eligible to be Accredited in Public Relations (APR).

Additional individual members from the same district/organization receive a $15 savings!

Individuals working in educational PR in a for-profit role may join as professional partners. They receive full benefits and can apply to become a candidate for Accreditation. Professional partners are not eligible to vote or hold office.

Associate members receive benefits and resources similar to professional members but are not eligible to vote, run for office, or apply to become a candidate for APR accreditation.

*A School District Subscription service is offered for one (1) employee of a district at both the professional and associate levels that has policies prohibiting individual association memberships. It is NOT a multi-person membership. The subscription offers the same benefits as a professional membership to a single person; it is not a group or multi-person membership.

Retired Student
Retired members receive select benefits and resources but are not eligible to vote or run for office. Student members receive select benefits and resources but cannot vote, run for office, or pursue APR accreditation.

What are the benefits of becoming an NSPRA member?

Membership gives you year-round support for your work. You’ll gain access to our resource library, NSPRA Plus on-demand learning, discounted webinars and events, member-only communities, templates, toolkits, and a network of school PR professionals who genuinely understand the work you do every day.

How much does membership cost?

Membership is an annual fee based on the type of membership you choose. You can review current rates on our Membership Types page.

Do you offer discounted membership options?

Yes. We offer discounted rates for additional members in the same district, full-time students, and company partners. 

Who can join NSPRA?

Anyone who supports communication in school communities is welcome. Most members work in school communication/PR or district leadership, and many others are consultants, agency partners, or students preparing to enter the field.

How do I join for the first time?

Select the membership type that fits your role, complete our online application, and submit payment or request an invoice. Your membership activates as soon as your application is processed

How do I renew my membership?

Log in to your Member Profile and follow the renewal prompts. We send reminder emails as your expiration date approaches so nothing slips through the cracks.

Does my district need an organizational membership, or can individuals join?

All NSPRA memberships are individual. Districts often enroll multiple team members at once, and you can add new members any time.

Can my district pay for my membership with a purchase order?

Yes. Simply select the invoice option during checkout and share it with your finance office.

Where do I send my Purchase Order?

You can email a copy of your Purchase Order to ar@nspra.org and have the check mailed to P.O. Box 1493, Rockville, MD 20849. 

How do I change the email address associated with my membership?

Log in to your Member Profile to update your contact information. If you lose access to your old email, our membership team can help.

How can I request a copy of my invoice or receipt?

Invoices and receipts are stored in your Member Profile. If you need help locating something, reach out to membership@nspra.org.

Can I get a W-9 from NSPRA?

Yes. Contact membership@nspra.org and we will send it to you.

Can I transfer my membership if my role changes?

Memberships belong to the individual, but if your circumstances shift, our team can walk you through your options.

Do I need to be a member to attend the National Seminar?

No. Anyone can attend. Members receive a discounted rate, so many attendees choose to join when they register.
