Congratulations, NSPRA 2026 National Seminar Scholarship Recipients!

Each year, the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education funds and administers a number of scholarships for individuals to attend the NSPRA National Seminar. Congratulations to the recipients selected to receive one of the 2026 Seminar scholarships!

Mandy Pascua, director of marketing and community Relations for J.O. Combs Unified School District in Arizona has been named the recipient of the 2026 Armistead New Professional Scholarship. This scholarship provides a registration to both the National Seminar and a pre-Seminar workshop and is made possible by the personal sponsorship of NSPRA Past President Lew Armistead, APR, and his wife Joan.

Dr. Ana Farina, director of communication, community engagement and college readiness for Vacaville Unified School District in California has been named the 2026 Dawn K. McDowell Memorial Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is made possible thanks to generous contributions from Dawn McDowell’s family and the Minnesota chapter.

Jennifer Baldassari, communications manager for Lawrence Township Public Schools in New Jersey has been named the recipient of the 2026 Executive Board’s Seminar Scholarship.


Debbie Strand, coordinator of communications and student events at Calaveras County Office of Education in California has been named the 2026 Barry Gaskins Mentor Legacy Scholarship recipient. This year's recipient was selected by the 2025 Barry Gaskins Mentor Legacy Award Recipient Danielle Clark, APR.

 

Jada Jonas, public information officer for Iredell-Statesville Schools in North Carolina; Maria DiPetta, APR, director of strategic multimedia communication for Fort Bend ISD in Texas; Breana Benevedes, digital communications manager for Tulare City School District; and Stephanie Sedacca, communications and marketing specialist for Pasco County Schools in Florida were named recipients of the 2026 Leaders Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible thanks to generous contributions from family and friends of former NSPRA leaders Nora Carr,APR, Joe Krumm, APR, Nick Goble, Phil Toman and Roy Wilson.

Megan Federer-Monroe, family and community engagement manager for Indianapolis Public Schools in Indiana, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Rich and Carolyn Bagin Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible by generous donations from the Bagin family, their friends and NSPRA members and past leaders.

Leslie Campos, account manager for Laura Bishop Communications in New Jersey and Carlos Castro, communications coordinator for Glendale Elementary School District in Arizona, have been named the 2026 NSPRA Foundation Seminar Scholarship recipients, which recognizes individuals who are new to school public relations with the intention of expanding their knowledge and profession.

Heather Gilchrest, Communication Coordinator & Executive Assistant to the Superintendent for York School Department in Maine and Ahmad Gibson, chief communications officer for Community Consolidated School District 15 in Illinois, have been named the recipients of the 2026 K12PRChat Seminar Scholarship. These scholarships are made possible by the donations of NSPRA members who purchased ROAD2NSPRA T-Shirts at past Seminars.
