Each year, the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education funds and administers a number of scholarships for individuals to attend the NSPRA National Seminar. Congratulations to the 12 recipients selected to receive one of the 2024 Seminar scholarships!
Kerri Schuette, communications director at the Shasta County (Calif.) Office of Education, has been named the recipient of the 2024 Armistead New Professional Scholarship. This scholarship provides a registration to both the National Seminar and a pre-Seminar workshop and is made possible by the personal sponsorship of NSPRA Past President Lew Armistead, APR, and his wife Joan.
Nydia Natividad, director of media and communications at Pecos-Barstow-Toyah (Texas) Independent School District, has been named the 2024 Dawn K. McDowell Memorial Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is made possible thanks to generous contributions from Dawn McDowell’s family and the Minnesota chapter.
Laura McFarland, communications liaison/Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) officer for Powhatan County (Va.) Public Schools, has been named the 2024 Don Bagin Memorial Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is made possible by the generous contributions of his family and by NSPRA members in his memory.
Anjelica Juarez, director of communications and community engagement at the Azusa (Calif.) Unified School District, has been named the 2024 Pat Jackson Seminar Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible by the generous donations of NSPRA members in his memory.
Carol Garrette, director of communications at Bedford County Schools has been named the recipient of the 2024 Executive Board’s Seminar Scholarship. This scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible thanks to a generous donation by the NSPRA Executive Director on behalf of the Executive Board.
Rosie Eades, communications specialist at Highline Public Schools (Burien, Wash.), has been named the 2024 Barry Gaskins Mentor Legacy Scholarship recipient. This year's recipient was selected by the 2023 Barry Gaskins Mentor Legacy Award Recipient, Catherine Carbone Rogers.
Kari Klebba, communications, community outreach, and safety coordinator at School District of Milton (Wisc.), has been named the recipient of the 2024 Leaders Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible thanks to generous contributions from family and friends of former NSPRA leaders Nora Carr, APR, Joe Krumm, APR, Nick Goble, Phil Toman and Roy Wilson.
Siobhan-Chachere, communications coordinator at Clover Park School District in Washington, has been named the recipient of the 2024 Rich and Carolyn Bagin Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible by generous donations from the Bagin family, their friends and NSPRA members and past leaders.
Megan Hernandez, director of communications at East Liverpool (Ohio) City School District. and Ahmad Nimati, cultural communication specialist at San Juan Unified School District (Carmicheal, Calif.), have been named the 2024 NSPRA Foundation Seminar Scholarship recipients.
Rebecca Bultsma, APR, Director of Communications for Westwind School Division (Canada) and Kirsten Ziembo, digital communications director at DeKalb County (Ind.) Central United School District have been named the recipients of the 2024 #K12PRChat Seminar Scholarship. These scholarships are made possible by possible by the donations of NSPRA members who purchased ROAD2NSPRA T-Shirts at past Seminars.
