From August 12–September 3, eligible voting members of the National School Public Relations Association cast their votes in the association's contested officer elections for the 2025-26 NSPRA Executive Board. All voting results were reviewed and certified by the Teller Committee.
Kelly Wachel, APR, chief communications officer for Park Hill School District in Kansas City, Mo., was elected as the association's president-elect for 2025-26. The ballot also included Derek Duncan, APR.
Eligible voting NSPRA members in the Mideast Region (D.C., Ind., Ky., Md., Mich., Ohio, Va. and W.Va.) elected Andrew Robinson, assistant director of communications for Arlington (Va.) Public Schools, as their regional vice president for 2025-2028. The ballot also included Cristina Capretta, APR.
Wachel and Robinson will begin their terms on October 1, along with incoming Northeast Region Vice President Monica Lester, APR, program manager for Capital Region BOCES in Albany, N.Y., and incoming Southwest Region Vice President Christy McGee, APR, director of communications for Fountain-Fort Carson (Colo.) School District 8, who were affirmed by the Executive Board in July in uncontested elections. They will join returning officers in serving on the 2025-26 Executive Board.
“All of the candidates brought tremendous expertise and insight from their years of school communication leadership,” said NSPRA Executive Director Barbara M. Hunter, APR. “I deeply value their willingness to step forward, share their vision and invest the effort required to maintain our strength as an association."
NSPRA invites you to congratulate the incoming officers and extend appreciation to all who stepped forward to serve the association.
