Public Schools Week 2026 logoHappy Public Schools Week 2026 (Feb. 23-27)!  Led by the Learning First Alliance—a coalition of national education associations including NSPRA—Public Schools Week is an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the essential role of public education and honoring the exceptional educators, staff (including school communicators!), parents and school board members who work tirelessly to strengthen communities, expand opportunity and prepare every learner to thrive.

Why We Celebrate Public Schools Week

Public Schools Week shines a spotlight on the people, partnerships and practices that help public schools meet today’s challenges while preparing students for their best future. It is an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate Excellence: Spotlight the innovative teaching, committed leadership and everyday dedication that fuel student growth and achievement.
  • Strengthen Community: Showcase the meaningful partnerships between schools and the communities they serve, building environments where every student feels supported and valued.
  • Spark Engagement: Invite families, community partners and local organizations to stand together in championing public education and advocating for the resources and support schools deserve.

Your Toolkit for Celebrating

The ready-to-use toolkit from the Learning First Alliance makes it easy to bring Public Schools Week to life in your district. Inside, you’ll find:

  • Social media graphics designed to amplify the message.
  • Customizable sample copy to help share the impact and value of public education.
  • Practical resources to help your district or organization highlight the teamwork and collaboration that power student success.
