NATIONAL SCHOOL PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES 2025 SCHOOL COMMUNICATORS DAY
Annual recognition honors the essential work of school communication professionals nationwide
ROCKVILLE, MD. (May 9, 2025) – The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) proudly recognizes School Communicators Day today, honoring the critical contributions of school communication professionals across the country. Observed annually on the second Friday in May, the day highlights the critical role of communication professionals in school districts and education organizations across the nation in fostering effective, two-way communication between school districts and their communities. These professionals practice ethical, two-way communication and serve as liaisons between school districts and their communities. They help ensure meaningful parental and community involvement in schools and act as strategic partners to education leaders in support of their districts’ missions and goals.
"School communicators are the voice behind the messages, the lens behind the camera, and the heart behind every connection made in school districts," said Heidi Vega, APR, 2024-25 NSPRA President. "Their work matters in big ways and small, whether they're crafting crisis responses or celebrating student success. School communication professionals shape trust in public education every single day."
School district leaders are encouraged to celebrate and recognize the communication professionals on their teams today. NSPRA has provided a School Communicators Day toolkit with customizable resources for superintendents and school boards.
In addition to celebrating school communicators, NSPRA is also using School Communicators Day as an opportunity to continue providing district leaders with further insights on the role and value of school communicators.
