Looking for a way to get more involved at NSPRA and help shape the direction of your professional association?
The NSPRA Executive Board will be filling two new vacancies on the board through appointments this fall. Association members who meet eligibility guidelines are invited to express their interest in the positions.
The board vacancies are in the following positions:
Serving as an officer of the NSPRA Executive Board takes time and energy, but as past officers will attest, it is also an opportunity to help advance the school public relations profession and to develop your leadership skills at the national level. Read more about each of the open offices below.
NSPRA Executive Board member Melissa McConnell recently resigned from her position as the South Central Region vice president, accepting a role on the NSPRA staff as the manager of professional development and member services. Her term was scheduled to end in September 2023. NSPRA policy allows a vacancy of one year in the office of region vice president to be filled by the Executive Board by appointment until the next regular election.
NSPRA professional members in the South Central Region (Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas) who are interested in being considered for the one-year appointment to the position should review the officer qualifications and email President-elect Cathy Kedjidjian, APR, at ckedjidjian@glenview34.org by Friday, Aug. 26. In your email, please share a resume and details on why you would be a good fit for the position. This position's term will begin on Oct. 1, 2022, and conclude on Sept. 30, 2023.

Joshua Sauer, APR, concludes his term as the NSPRA vice president at large for communication technology and innovation in September. NSPRA policy allows for the positions of vice president at large to be appointed by the Executive Board. The board also identifies the focus of its at-large positions.
In an effort to further nurture and support the association's growing membership, the NSPRA Executive Board agreed to shift the focus of the at-large role from an emphasis on technology and innovation to one of engagement with members and public education stakeholders.

Vice presidents at large offices are appointed by a majority vote of the elected members of the Executive Board to two-year terms. This position's term will begin on Oct. 1, 2022, and conclude on Sept. 30, 2024.
