Tips for Submitting a Proposal

You may submit as many proposals as you would like, but please be mindful that due to limited sessions capacity, up to one proposal may be accepted from each individual presenter from a non-profit/not-for-profit organization and up to one proposal may be accepted from each individual for-profit organization.

NSPRA's 5 Tips to a Great Presentation Proposal

What's the secret to getting your proposal accepted? Keep these five tips in mind:

Know the popular topics. As you consider what to present on, ask yourself what challenges the profession has faced lately. What strategies have you used to tackle those challenges? What professional insights do you have to offer others in the profession?

Know your audience. Picture the target audience for your presentation: Who would benefit most from what you have to share?
Know which format fits your proposal. Only in-person sessions will be offered during the 2024 Seminar, but all accepted presenters will be asked to pre-record their session presentation for on-demand viewing after the Seminar. Our evaluations have shown attendees love this perk!

Demonstrate your experience. Seminar planners consider presenters’ experience levels, and if applicable, past Seminar evaluations as part of the proposal review process. However, all NSPRA members are all encouraged to submit proposals to gain professional development experience as presenters. Those with less presentation experience should consider submitting a proposal for a session type with more availability and/or identifying a more experienced co-presenter.

Follow the proposal guidance. Additionally, keep in mind that NSPRA will give priority to sessions with the association’s members as lead or co-presenters, and that a school district or educational organization may submit a proposal with a vendor co-presenter only if the proposed presentation does not include a sales pitch for vendor products and services.
