AASA/NSPRA Leadership in School Communications Program

When superintendents and school communicators work in harmony, they can inspire trust, strengthen relationships, and help their districts thrive. That’s the driving force behind the Leadership in School Communication (LISC) program, a flagship partnership between the National School Public Relations Association and AASA, The School Superintendents Association. Now entering its fifth year, this six-month program includes four virtual modules (two hours each), each with a digital resource guide, a copy of NSPRA's Rubrics of Practice and Suggested Measures ($125 value) and access to recordings and supporting materials so participants can revisit the learning anytime — or catch up if they miss a live session. Designed for superintendent–communications leader teams, the sessions offer value for all district leaders as they focus on practical skills, real-world challenges, and proven strategies to elevate communication practices, identify opportunities for growth, and align messaging with district priorities.

Pricing for the 4 virtual modules as one package*: $1000 ($100 savings over purchasing each module separately).

Engaging Every Voice: How One District Transformed Its Community Culture (October 16)

Tackling Misinformation: A Collaborative Strategy for District Leaders (November 13)

Shared Vision, Strong Results: A Collaborative Approach to District Communication (March 5)

Building Board Cohesion: Structured Onboarding for Trust and Teamwork (April 23)

In addition to the virtual sessions, the LISC catalog of learning offers two in-person learning opportunities (repeated offering): Ready for the Headlines - Media Response for Sensitive Staff Situations) — one will be held at the AASA National Conference on Education and the other at the NSPRA Seminar. Registration for these events is separate and NCE registration is available now.

*Full package registrants will receive a calendar invitation with the Zoom links for each module.
