Become a MemberSchool districts are facing a volatile and deeply emotional moment, and when fear rises in a community, it doesn’t stay “out there.” It collides with schools. It shows up in staff anxiety, family questions, student needs, board pressure, and misinformation that spreads faster than facts. In the middle of it all, school communicators are expected to respond in real time — with steadiness, credibility and care — even when circumstances are shifting by the hour.
To meet this moment, NSPRA is hosting a 3-part BONUS K12PRChat Series designed to help members: process what’s happening (and how it’s impacting you and your team), find words that create calm and protect trust, and get coaching on real, urgent communication situations you’re navigating right now. Each session serves a different purpose, from community connection, to practical message tools, to scenario-based coaching. Attend one or attend all. Come as you are.
PART II: Toolkit: Communicating Calm in Volatile Moment
When everything feels uncertain, communicators are still expected to answer hard questions with confidence. This session focuses on the practical: what to say, what not to say, and how to communicate stability even when you don’t have every answer yet. We’ll begin with a live pulse-check poll, then shift into a “words that work” toolkit — messaging stances, sentence starters, and response strategies that help you stay grounded, protect trust, and avoid fueling speculation.
You’ll leave with:
- message frameworks you can use immediately
- safe “holding language” for shifting situations
- tips for rumor control + keeping your messaging steady
*These meetings will NOT be recorded and AI companions will not be admitted. They are designed for members to have meaningful conversations and ask key questions in a safe environment. Notes will be shared after the event.
