K12PRChat | When Community Fear Collides with Schools: Leading Through Volatile Moments, Part I Event Image

School districts are facing a volatile and deeply emotional moment, and when fear rises in a community, it doesn’t stay “out there.” It collides with schools. It shows up in staff anxiety, family questions, student needs, board pressure, and misinformation that spreads faster than facts. In the middle of it all, school communicators are expected to respond in real time — with steadiness, credibility and care — even when circumstances are shifting by the hour.

To meet this moment, NSPRA is hosting a 3-part BONUS K12PRChat Series designed to help members: process what’s happening (and how it’s impacting you and your team), find words that create calm and protect trust, and get coaching on real, urgent communication situations you’re navigating right now. Each session serves a different purpose, from community connection, to practical message tools, to scenario-based coaching. Attend one or attend all. Come as you are.

PART I: Town Hall: What’s Colliding in Our Communities

This Town Hall is a space to pause, connect, and name what’s real. In a time when the pressure on school feels relentless, school communicators are carrying an extraordinary emotional load, often while projecting calm and certainty for everyone else. Join NSPRA for a candid, member-centered conversation. We’ll take a pulse on what’s unfolding across communities, share what we’re hearing nationally, and create space for members to speak honestly about what they’re navigating with support, respect, and care.

*These meetings will NOT be recorded and AI companions will not be admitted. They are designed for members to have meaningful conversations and ask key questions in a safe environment. Notes will be shared after the event.
