Being Strategic With Effective Communications Plans

Strategy is the cornerstone of every effective school communication program.  Participants will transition from reactive communication to proactive, purpose-driven planning. You will learn the critical importance of leveraging your district’s overarching strategic plan as the indispensable guide for developing comprehensive, impactful communications initiatives. The facilitator will introduce the industry-standard RPIE (Research, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation) process, providing a robust framework. Through guided exercises, participants will put their learning into immediate action by drafting initial communication goals and strategic approaches, setting the stage for their future planning efforts.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:

• Articulate the fundamental principles of strategic communication planning, including its role as the foundation for a strong school PR program.
• Align communication goals and strategies directly with the key components of their district's overall strategic plan.
• Apply the RPIE (Research, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation) process as a framework for developing comprehensive and measurable communication plans.
• Begin to draft initial communication goals and strategic approaches for a specific organizational need, integrating insights from the RPIE framework.
