Position Overview
The National School Public Relations Association is in search of a full-time communications, engagement and marketing specialist to support the association’s professional development, membership marketing and member engagement functions (60 percent) as well as to support the association’s communications and awards programs (20 percent) and the annual National Seminar (20 percent).
The position reports to the Manager of Professional Development and Member Engagement but also supports the work of the Communications Manager and the Manager of Seminar and Partnerships.
The ideal candidate will be available to work in person at NSPRA headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, but fully remote candidates also will be considered.
Applications are due by September 16, 2024. First round interviews are expected to begin the last week of September, with a desired start date in early October.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide support for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of professional development programs and activities.
- Provide support and collaborate with marketing consultants on promotional campaigns for professional development programs, membership recruitment/retention and the National Seminar.
- Assist in the coordination of the association’s awards and recognition programs.
- Assist in the coordination of logistics for major association events, including the annual National Seminar in July and Presidents Summit in February.
- Participate as a member of the NSPRA staff team, contributing to development of long-term strategy and achievement of annual organizational goals.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum three years of relevant industry experience in communications, public relations, marketing and/or engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, in communications, public relations, journalism, English, library science or education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to prioritize multiple, complex projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to formulate clear, concise and supportable recommendations.
- Ability to analyze situations and anticipate potential needs.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with using a learning management system for professional development is a plus.

For this position, the preferred daily work location is in person at NSPRA headquarters with an option for remote work one day a week. However, fully remote candidates also will be considered. This position also offers:

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000, depending on experience and skills.
