BOOK AT BEDSIDE

Foreskin’s Lament by Shalom Auslander. An angry, funny memoir by a young man who grew up in an Orthodox Jewish community near me. The title is wild, but the writing is to die for.

WALTER MITTY FANTASY ...

To be blogging from the front porch of a beach house in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. After a swim.

INSPIRATION …

My late uncle, Joseph Ungaro, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who asked the question of former President Richard Nixon that prompted him to reply: “I am not a crook.”

PET PEEVE …

As a former journalist, I have no patience for reporters who don’t do their homework. That, and telemarketers.

PR MOTTO …

We can make you look good.

SCHOOL PR HELPS KIDS LEARN BY …

Supporting the notion that public education deserves our time, funding and attention.

GREATEST PR ACCOMPLISHMENT/MY BEST PROFESSIONAL DAY …

A CURRENT PR PROJECT I'M NOW WORKING ON IS …

I am juggling several anvils at once. But I spend most of my time maintaining website news pages, updating school district Facebook and Twitter pages, working on two upcoming presentations, running an office of six people, and doing my best to keep a new school district/client happy.

REASON WHY I'M AN NSPRA MEMBER …

Because of the personal learning connections it affords. The conferences, the networking, the serious, scholarly education I’ve received from NSPRA have all been invaluable. Not to mention the hair-raising cable car ride I got to take in San Francisco last summer.

MY EPITAPH …

She was a high school cheerleader. We loved her anyway.
