NSPRA Seeking Candidates for Executive Board Offices

NSPRA’s Executive Board Search Committee (EBSC) is currently seeking candidates for each NSPRA Executive Board office that will become available in October 2020. As a chapter officer, you are invited to share this message within your chapter and to consider whether you may be ready to serve at the national level.

The four offices open in 2020 are as follows:

  • President-elect
  • North Central Region Vice President (IL*, IA, MN, NE, ND, SD, WI, Manitoba, Northwestern ON)
  • South Central Region Vice President (AR, KS, LA, MO, OK*, TX)
  • Vice President for Diversity Engagement

*Members from Illinois and Oklahoma are ineligible to run this year for the open offices for regional vice president, according to association bylaws. The state restriction does not apply to candidates for president-elect or vice president for diversity engagement.

NSPRA members who wish to be considered as candidates:

Chapter Report Forms Due Feb. 24

Three times a year, all chapters are asked to submit reports on their activities to NSPRA regional vice presidents. The next chapter report forms are due to regional VPs by Monday, Feb. 24.

Your reports are shared with fellow chapter officers, who may be seeking fresh inspiration. They also help the NSPRA Executive Board stay apprised of chapter activities, successes and challenges.

Please submit your completed form to your regional VP via email (find email addresses: www.nspra.org/executive-board).

Plan Now to Arrive Early for Leaders' Meeting at NSPRA 2020

All chapter officers are invited and encouraged to attend the annual Leaders' Meeting during the NSPRA 2020 National Seminar on Sunday, July 12, from 8-11:45 a.m. at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri.

At the Leaders’ Meeting, officers can begin their Seminar experience by connecting with national colleagues, sharing ideas and challenges, enjoying light refreshments and discussing chapter best practices as well as NSPRA's key projects and initiatives.

Seminar registration and hotel blocks are now open, and the super early-bird registration rate is available until Friday, Feb. 28. When making your travel arrangements, plan to arrive in time for this valuable networking opportunity for chapter leaders!

Accreditation Committee Invitation:
Advance Your Career to the Next Level

Are you ready to make a commitment to advance your career to the next level? A great place to start is by taking advantage of the APR Prep: Get Ready for Universal Accreditation course offered as a pre-Seminar workshop at the NSPRA 2020 National Seminar on July 11-12 in St. Louis, Missouri. Pre-Seminar workshop registration is now open.

For more information about Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), visit NSPRA's APR page or contact a member of the Accreditation Committee.

Public Schools Week 2020:
Sign the Pledge Today

As proud supporters of public education, all chapter officers are asked to sign the Public Schools Week pledge today and to encourage their chapter members to do the same.

Public Schools Week (PSW) is set for Feb. 24-28, 2020. Find a social media tool kit and other resources for chapters, school districts and individuals to get involved in advocating for their public schools on the PSW website.

See Your Chapter Events on NSPRA.org

Post your chapter’s upcoming conferences and events at www.nspra.org/chapter-events, and NSPRA will help spread the word on social media.

Then check back throughout the year to explore other chapters’ speakers, programs and activities for ideas and presenters that may work for your chapter, too.
