5 Tips for Planning Your First In-Person Meeting After COVID-19

As vaccines become more widespread and social distancing guidelines change, your chapter leadership may be ready to plan a return to in-person meetings. Kristina Ottomanelli, CMP, the NSPRA National Seminar manager, offers five tips for chapter officers to consider as they work to get members back together in real life.

Register for Chapter Challenges Solved: The Chapter-National Relationship

Some say the best relationships are built on mutual understanding, respect and support. But for professional relationships, you may have additional expectations. Come share and discuss your expectations for the NSPRA-chapter relationship during the next Chapter Challenges Solved virtual meeting on Monday, May 24, at 2-3 p.m. ET (1-2 p.m. CT, noon - 1 p.m. MT, 11 a.m. - noon PT).

All NSPRA chapter officers—presidents, vice presidents, presidents-elect, secretaries, treasurers, executive directors/coordinators, committee chairs, etc.—are invited to participate.

Earn Seminar Discounts, Free NSPRA Memberships for Your Chapter: 
Apply for Mark of Distinction by May 15

Through the Mark of Distinction program, SPRA chapters have multiple opportunities to be recognized for their exemplary work and to receive incentives such as discounts on National Seminar registrations and free PR Power Hours, professional memberships and other offerings. Entries are due each year by May 15.

NEW! Promote Your Chapter in National Seminar Program Book

All SPRA chapters are invited to submit for free an ad promoting your state/regional chapter for inclusion in the NSPRA 2021 National Seminar program book, which will be distributed to all in-person Seminar attendees in New Orleans. 

Ads must be 4.125" wide x 1.95" high and in black and white. They are preferred as an EPS, JPG or AI file type at 300 dpi, but a high-resolution PDF may be acceptable depending on the quality.

Submit your ad to NSPRA Associate Director Mellissa Braham, APR, at mbraham@nspra.org no later than Monday, May 24.

Save the Date: Join Your Peers at Leaders’ Meeting Breakfast July 11

Registration is now open for the NSPRA 2021 National Seminar, which takes place July 11-14 online and in person at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, Louisiana. Chapter officers who are attending in person are invited to attend a Leaders' Meeting Breakfast on Sunday, July 11, from 8 - 11:45 a.m.

The Leaders' Meeting will begin with a light breakfast followed by professional development specific to chapter leadership. You’ll also enjoy opportunities to network, learn about chapter best practices and meet with NSPRA regional vice presidents.

Spring Regional Reports Offer Ideas for Chapters

SPRA chapters' spring reports are now available online. Read up on what your fellow chapters are doing to partner with state education associations, maintain and expand membership offerings during the pandemic, develop mentorship programs and more.

Learning and Liberty Legacy Leaders Nominations Due June 1

Is there an NSPRA colleague or leader who holds a special place in your heart for helping you to grow and advance professionally and personally? Through the Learning and Liberty Legacy Leaders recognition, NSPRA chapters and members can recognize these individuals for their positive impact on colleagues' careers and tireless work behind the scenes on behalf of education and improved communication.

Those honored as Learning and Liberty Legacy Leaders receive a special certificate and recognition on the NSPRA website as well as in the member recognitions during the Annual Meeting and Celebration of Achievement at the NSPRA National Seminar.

Nominate a colleague by Tuesday, June 1.
