What does leadership mean to you?
Leadership is knowing how to react. 

What was the most fulfilling professional moment you have experienced?
Each opportunity I have had to interact with students in my current role has been very fulfilling. I enjoy lending my expertise to student projects and initiatives. I applaud our teachers – and teachers everywhere – for what they do every single day. My most fulfilling moment was very recent as of this writing. One of our amazing educational aides and I put together a fun music video to celebrate our students and staff (prior to a renewal levy). It has been shared over 20k times on Facebook and really lifted the school spirit in our district (and the levy passed with 70% of voters in favor of the renewal!) What is the most challenging and/or rewarding part about working in school PR?
The most challenging is the crisis situations. The most rewarding is sharing the success of students and staff with the community.

Canva and Pinterest. 
 
What book has inspired you professionally?
Crushing It, by Gary Vaynerchuk  

How has NSPRA and your state chapter guided you along the way?
My state chapter, OHSPRA, was generous to give me a partial scholarship to attend my first conference. The Board and members are all very supportive and willing to share their expertise with school PR professionals across the state. 

What is a recent communications/media campaign you enjoyed – either one of your own or one you saw nationally?
That’s a tough one! I think the ‘Share a Coke’ campaign is so simple and smart. It’s all about personalizing an experience. I still see people searching the coolers at the grocery store checkout for their own names as well as names of friends and family (who probably aren’t even regular Coke or soda drinkers to begin with!). 

What emerging trends in school public relations get you excited?
Voice. It will be very interesting to see how we adapt all we do now with sharing information such as bus schedules, lunch menus, etc. to Alexa, Google Home, etc.
